Lois Reichert prepares a morning meal for her goats after milking them.
I recently began a project to attempt to add more nuance to my own understanding of Iowa. One of the common perceptions of Iowa is a state lined from corner to corner with corn and soybeans. However, increasingly, the agricultural landscape is being supplemented by small farms and producers. Among these small producers is Lois Reichert. Reichert runs a cheese operation, focused cheeses made from goat's milk, in Knoxville, Iowa. I hope to have a short photo story on Reichert completed soon.
